Street Maintenance Division

Utilities Division

The City of Fountain Valley offers an automatic direct payment program. If you’re paying by credit card, you’ll be charged a mere 2.75%. If you’re paying by check, the rate is slightly higher at 3 percent.The Utility Office is responsible for setting up utility contracts, providing meter readings, performing backflow and cross connection control, and handling the city’s garbage and recycling. It also provides a free remittance service to help ensure accurate and timely billing. If you are digging around your yard, be sure to call ahead to have utilities marked.
Environmental Division
Various programs in the Environmental Division of Ohio City Service are designed to educate and inform the general public and help protect the community’s health. These programs range from sanitation and solid waste programs to the protection of surface water.The Environmental Division is responsible for consulting on water and sewer extension projects. In addition, it coordinates the design and review of storm water management systems. Specifically, it manages the storm water permit application process to the Ohio EPA and the Summit County Soil and Water District. The division also acts as a principal advisor to the Site Director.
Another notable program administered by the Environmental Division of Ohio City Service is the Comprehensive Storm Water Management Plan (CSO-PMT). The program is designed to improve the efficiency of water and sewer systems in Akron. It includes an $850 million program to improve sewer separations, tunnels, storage basins, and the Water Pollution Control Station.
Building Department

The department is headed by a Building Commissioner and comprises six full-time employees. The department’s primary responsibility is the oversight of all boards and commissions, as well as all engineering and construction projects in the City.
Job duties of a City Service Director
